I am working on a project where we will need to read the weight of 4 Vessels and 4 packout stations. This means I will need to be able to interpret the signal from 20 load cells into a P3000. The problem is that the load cells are 10 '000KG and they would like a precision of .1 or .01.( They know the accuracy will be less than that but that what they want) That means that even with a 16 bit processor I will not have the resolution I need through a signal conditioner. Is there a better way to do this? I was going to see if I can find a signal conditioner with a modbus output but the cost of this would be very high. Not to mention trying to trim the output from the 4 load cells on each vessel would not be fun.

To get close to the resolution you 're after, and get your 4 cells per bin calibrated, I think you will need to let the weighing experts get your weight number, and then send that number to the PAC.

Something like this might do the trick...

This company has many other controllers/conditioners, and I'm sure other companies can do the job as well.

    Hope this helps,
