I am planning on using a Productivity3000 on a large upcoming project. Has anyone used it and how reliable is it. I ordered a barebones system just to take a look at it and it looks and programs fine. I will be using a great deal of I/O and analog. One last question how well does it work with Modbus. In closing will this system last as well as other AD PLC's Thanks

It seems to work just fine. We use 150+ P3-550 per year.

As far as hardware problems we have had problems with the P3-RS modules dying and lately had a bad batch of P3-01AC power supplies that we are sorting out.

Depending on how large large is I might tell you to use other hardware. Also, if you 're needing hardware for "mission critical " work I would recommend using a different hardware platform.

Our typical system has a 5 slot main rack with to relay out and one input and the remote panel has one out, one in, and one combo analog card.

Make sure you use the newest version of the Productivity software.

What are you using for a graphics program for the project? C-more touchscreen, Wonderware, etc?

Thanks for the info, I will be using the C-More of which I now have used about 2 dozen. As for large about 64 inputs, 64 outputs and 3 analog in and 4 analog out.

If there are any issues with either the P3-RS or the P3-01AC I am not aware of it. I would definitely be interested in learning more about the issues that you seem to be having.

You'll probably be fine. I wasn't sure if you were trying to design a system with lots of remote racks and lots of I/O.

    Productivity3000 Recommendations

We have proposed using the Productivity3000 for a semi-conductor fabrication gas monitoring system. It is relatively simple with 64 DI and 8 DO since the gas detectors simply close a Hi or Hi-Hi level alarm contact that we monitor.

I plan to use the C-More 15 " touchscreen for local use and will use Iconics Gen32 via OPC for the HMI.

The reviewing engineer has asked for references of similar projects, and verification or reliability and product support. Does anyone have any recommendations or project profiles, etc. ?

    Thanks in advance!
