I have a Windows 7 Home premium edition laptop. Installed P3000 software and cannot get the USB driver for download cable (Laptop to P3 processor) to work. Seems the driver (adcup.sys) is supposed to install in the: Windows\system32\drivers folder. But on my Win 7 system it is installing in: Windows\SysWOW64\drivers folder. When plugged into the P3 CPU the computer searches for driver and comes back "Cannot locate driver " I did a manual driver install pointing to the Windows\SysWOW64\drivers folder but no luck. Copied and pasted the driver to the system32\driver folder and pointed there no luck. I have UAC on win 7 turned off and I am the administrator on the computer. Very frustrating as AD tech support says it should work fine / no real help their. Tried uninstall / reinstall several times - Always installs driver file to SysWOW64\drivers folder. Any help would be great Have a project due and I cant download! Thanks Mark

PC/software problems are very hard to diagnose over forums/phone. Do you have access to another laptop somewhere?

If your laptop has an ethernet connector you could hook up the P3 with a ethernet cable. It will allow you to do the same thing as a USB cable and you don't have to fight with the USB driver.

I did install and test on a win xp laptop of another tech. Works fine.

My old win xp laptop died and I bought the win 7.

I could probably borrow or find a used xp laptop worst case but just hoping someone else may have encountered this and has a work around.

Supposedly P3000 software is win 7 ready.

Funny when I install the software windows pops up saying publisher not verified.

I decided to try the P3000 for this project instead of AB500 series that I had used on others.

    Like the platform and software.

Just a little up against it since the customer wants to start machine next week.

I have the ladder done but need to simulate / test.

    Thanks

You can use a crossover cable if the P3000 does not autocross.

Having the same issue with Windows 7

Well, I am facing the same issue with Windows 7 PC. For manual detection of the driver, there is a need for a .inf file beside the sys file. It might be a driver defect that works with Win XP but fails with Windows 7.

There are two possible issues here that we are looking into. Up to this point, all of our testing for the Productivity Suite Software with Windows 7 has been on the Enterprise edition and also have been 32-bit version.

I would not expect Home Vs. Enterprise would cause this problem, but we currently do not support 64-bit operating systems (XP, Vista or Windows 7).

We will continue to check for other possible solutions.

64 bit is a must. You can hardly buy a new computer that isn't 64 and I don't want any that are 32.
