Connectivity issues between PLC and HMI?

Hello, I recently took my PLC out of my office to the warehouse for testing, disconnecting it from my PC. However, I am now receiving a PLC Comm Error. I did not get this when the computer was hooked up. I'm having no programming issues - the program seems to be running, just not displaying any data on my HMI. Could this be a hardware issue? I suspect that the phone jack being used to connect my PLC and HMI is not doing its job - my theory is that it didn't receive the error when connected to the PC because the PLC was connecting to the HMI through the PC. Any thoughts on this diagnosis?

Please identify the plc, hmi, method of communication both in your office and in the warehouse.

Productivity3000, C-More Micro, Method of communication in both office in warehouse: Ethernet cable. I apologize for being vague.

Is the HMI set to the IP address of the P3k properly? Im just thinking maybe you have them both set to talk to the PC and the PC was forwarding things between so the IP addresses may be wrong.

It shouldnt matter, but I always use a switch between my HMI(s) and my PLCs, both Productivity and Do-More. Perhaps a direct connection wont work because it doesnt do the crossover automatically? In this case you would need to use a crossover cable instead or put a switch in. Could be that the PC was doing the crossover for you/acting like a switch.

I'll definitely investigate the IP issue - crossover cable - might need to investigate that. Thanks for the leads.

The Cmore-micro does not communicate with the PLC through the PC while being programmed. I'm guessing that the link for the hmi to the PLC is not set up correctly. Possibly zip and postyour hmi program.

I figured it out. It was a hardware issue - The USB cable I was using to connect the two devices was faulty. Replaced it with a different one, now they can talk to each other.
