Hi: Is anyone using Wonderware OI Server for DoMore PLC? I deal primarily with Modbus from my remote PLCs via cell link to a PC running Wonderware DASMBTCP. I was thinking it would be nice to not have to deal with Modbus registers and decided to look for an Ethernet/IP solution when this fairly new "Wonderware Operations Integration – Supervisory AutomationDirect DOMORE Server (G-1.2 Series) " popped up on Google. Looks like one can use PLC variables C1, T0.Acc, etc., to get data vs using Modbus MHR, MCs etc. I'm trying to determine if it is worth updating from InTouch 2012 to 2014 on 6 machines just for "support " for the new OI Servers. Seems like it would be nice to not have to explicitly publish internal PLC data to Modbus registers. Does anyone have any experience with it? Thanks, Will

I'm using Wonderware OI Server with a Productivity 3000 PAC, which uses a different driver, but should be similar to the Do-More version. My experience is great, very easy to use, but I would recommend you to go through its built-in help file carefully when you configure OI connections.

Thanks, performance is good? I'm concerned about going form a nice compact Modbus array to random calls for values, unless the OI handles this ??

I'm not familiar with how the server is implemented, but Do-more's native status comms are random access. If properly implemented, the hit should be virtually nil.

Thanks BobO, I'm in the process of upgrading all of my Wonderware machines now, I'll let you know how I fare.
