I have an EA1-S3ML connected to port 1 of a D0-05AR PLC with a DV-1000CBL. I programmed a Auto/Manual switch into the HMI to operate a PLC output automatically through a sensor or manually without it (toggle bit C102). When online monitoring the status of the PLC it worked fine, but offline later on the switch would only go to auto and when attempting to switch to manual the HMI would display P499PLC: Recv. Error Code 021C followed by a PLC timeout. The first error code has something to do with the PLC password protection I believe. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

It might be the PLC switch is not in the Term position. It might be you entered a password while in DirectSoft and when you exited it locked the PLC. It might be, the PLC decided it had a password no one actually entered, in which case your only option would be to replace it or send it to Automation Direct to have it wiped and the password cleared.

I have had the last one happen once, this year as a matter of fact. It was many years old so it was trashed and another installed.

Thank You. I will have to test those ideas in the morning. I did get booted out when online and the PLC locked. I ran out of time while trying to get back online without any luck. When the software shows the PLC locked in red, is there anyway to get back online or are you locked out until AD wipes the program? I have never had that happen yet.

That I am not sure. I don't recall the error I was getting in DirectSoft at the time. I suggest calling AD tech support. Nice folks.
