Numeric Entry Object Visibility

I don't have a screen on hand to test this but am trying to determine the behavior of the Numeric Entry Object in a particular situation. Scenario: 1) operator touches the Numeric Entry Object, displaying the keypad. 2) while keypad is displayed, the tag selected (in this case an I input, I'm using a GE 90-30 PLC) in the object visibility tab changes state which should make the Numeric Entry Object no longer visible. I have tried this in the software simulator and the software will not allow me to change the state of the input while the keypad is displayed. Obviously the real world does not work that way. Does anyone have experience with this scenario? Does the keypad disappear? If not, can the operator still change the value? Screen is a EA9-T12C, firmware version 6.20. Also.....I very seldom post threads and often do not respond to the replies. I want to say thank you to anyone who has replied in one of my threads and apologize for the lack of responses on my part. I have no formal PLC training beyond a few GE product knowledge classes and it's my almost daily reading of this forum along with one other that have provided the information and confidence that has allowed me to do this type of work. I really like the type of analytical thinking that control work requires and it has benefited me in other aspects of my job. The knowledge here is invaluable and I have encouraged both of my boys to pursue this type of work. Thanks again.

I tried it in the simulator using SYS CLOCK SEC. After getting the keypad, the flag still toggles, however the keypad stays visible.

I tried it in the simulator using SYS TIME SS to control the Switch to Screen.

At SECOND 1, screen1 was active with the control. I clicked, got the keypad.

At SECOND 2, screen2 was active - removing the keypad.

At (the next) SECOND 1, screen1 was active with the control. No keypad.

Maybe you can use the tag change to switch screens and then go back to the last screen.

    possible workaround

If your Numeric Entry Object visibility tag goes false, switch to a blank screen

When CurrentScreen = CommandedScreen change to screen 0. Screen zero means PREV screen.

Just to add - the simulator does not play well with handshaking either as there is no way to change the handshake tag values while the keypad is open.
