I was wondering if the full version of Point Of View contains additional graphics as compared to the trial version. I have two EA9-T15CL HMIs and I would like to duplicated the interface as close as possible to what is displayed on the HMI. I didn't see the required graphics in the trial version but I can export them from the C-More library if I have to. The HMI interface shows a couple blowers, a cyclone type dust collector, and diverter valves at the moment. I don't believe there is but it would be convenient if there was a utility to duplicated the C-More interface in Point Of View. That's asking a lot and probably not possible but it would be useful for a mixed environment. Thanks -Justin

The full version is identical to the trial version as far as graphics is concerned. There is no import feature in POV to bring in a Cmore project file for conversion.

There are some additional graphics available on Indusoft's website that will work with POV:

I had no idea there were so many free add-ons available. Looks like a lot of usable objects too.

    Indusoft Addons

No most are not that usable.

I have downloaded most of them and they are very basic examples and require a lot of changes to use them in most projects.

The biggest problem I have run into is most who create the examples don't take into account that a control that you can only get 8 on a page is not very usable.

Good to know. I generally have very basic needs for an interface. Mostly plain pushbuttons and indicator lights. Do you have any favorites that you use?

How would I go about importing additional symbols or graphics into Point of View? I would like to use the bitmaps that I used in the C-More interface.

    Thanks

If you go to the Cmore software -> Open Symbol Factory -> Then export the graphic you would like to use in POV to a location on your PC. Then in POV under Libraries -> Select Linked Picture -> and browse to you graphic file location -> select Open, it should now be on your POV screen. These steps will only get the graphic into that one specific project.

If you want to use these graphics in all POV projects, you will need to right click and save as 'create linked symbol ' which in turn now save the graphic as a .sym file. You can now copy from the projects symbol folder & paste this into the main POV installation location in the symbols folder. I normally create a folder called 'custom ' and place these graphics into so they are easy to find. This will make the graphic now a global graphic and can be used in any POV project.

    Importing objects into POV

Just a note, when importing objects (including bit maps) into POV, they add to the size of the runtime project and can make HUGH projects.

There is an option of using linked objects where the objects are not stored in the project but beware, if trying to reuse the project to create another job, the links to the external objects will be wrong and a constant source of pain as you delete the object and relink it to the new project.
