C-more 6.0 new tag name problem

My setup: EA9-T8CL panel Omron CJ2M-CPU31 PLC Ethernet/FINS driver Everything worked great on v5 of the C-more programming software. We 've upgraded to version 6.0 of the C-more software. The new firmware is in the HMI and the program was converted from 5 to 6. After doing the above, when I want to create a new discrete (bit only) tag for A, H, IO, and W memory locations, I no longer have the option to enter the bit level number, it only allows the word address. If I specify the bit level using the slash notation it says "Error GUI-024: Invalid Address ", i.e., RL_TEST_BIT is on card 4, output 5, so address is IO4/05. I can only enter IO4 as the PLC address. Now if I export the tag addresses, fix the issue in Excel and re-import the addresses, everything is fine - the tag database now shows the IO4/05 address instead of IO4 and the object on the screen works as desired. So, I have a workaround but its tedious. See attached images of v5 and v6 Tag Add dialog boxes. Any ideas? Thanks!

It's a bug. Sorry for the trouble. Glad you found a work around. As with all bugs we will work with the manufacturer to get a fixed version ASAP.

    Follow-up

    Thanks for the update.

Another difference in V6 I 've noticed is that when I hover over a tag, it no longer displays the current PLC address. This is for all tags, not just those exhibiting the initial problem I described above. See attached images - V5 shows the tag value while "hovering " the mouse over the tag name while V6 does not.

It is much slower to update now, but, it does work for me. (I am running Win 8.1 Pro 64bit, i7-4710Q @ 2.5ghz. 16GB RAM. and 500GB SSD.)

It appears to not work at all if viewing a project that was converted from a previous version. If you delete them and then add them it works.

I have found that if you click the tag to cause 'GotFocus ' and then on another control to cause 'LostFocus ' then the tag tooltip works.

    Just like my weed eater.

    Prime 5 times.

    Full choke.

    Pull 4 times.

    Choke off

    Prime 2 times

    Pull 2 times

    Starts every time

My response was meant for tech support to be able to fix their bug.

    That is funny though. :D

I agree, but it is a helpful tip until they do.

    Thank you for the information.

    I never thought I'd see C-more compared to a 2-cycle engine though.:o
