Has any one had any luck using gmail to send emails from EA9 display. These are the settings I have and I am using 173.194.77.16 for the preferred DNS server. I do have the default gateway set both the web server and remote access work so I know the connection is good. 1650 Thanks Kevin

I have successfully used Gmail with the EA9. My settings are almost exactly like yours with the exception of the Account name. I did NOT put the @gmail.com in the Account name. Only my email address prefix.

Have tried those changes but still not working. I have also tried with gmx mail. Really at a loss I emailed tech support so see if they can help.

    Thanks

I'd say you probably have a network setup problem then. I just tried those settings again and they worked for me.

You could try hard coding in the SMTP server address. Go to your Command prompt and type ping smtp.gmail.com and see what IP address it is using.

I would double check the gateway address to make sure it is valid.

    Is IT possibly blocking things?

Glad that its working for you now.

The fact that hardcoding in the IP address means that the DNS server address is incorrect or not functioning. Just an FYI...

What is meant by the hard coding comments is using a fix IP address as the SMTP server address instead of a URL such as smtp.gmail.com.

If you go to your command prompt window and type: ping smtp.gmail.com, you will see it change to an IP address and ping that address such as: 64.233.177.108

Use this instead of the URL. If the DNS address used in the panel is no longer working, it will not be able to resolve the IP address for the SMTP server.
