I'm putting in a C-more EA9-T8CL and have a few questions. I'm putting in a screen to help with troubleshooting. Instead of having to look at the PLC I'm having this panel show just the bits we need to troubleshoot. This is so people who aren't able to read the binary data table can understand with clear red and green indicators what's wrong in the system. There are currently 4 PLCs in the network. I'm only interested in variable from the master PLC a SLC 5/04. How does the C-more poll the data? I'm going to have a bunch of screens with indicator buttons to show the status of all kinds of N bits. Will this do anything to the scan time or cause any issues with the PLC? Is there anything I need to watch out for when connecting to the system? We 've got about 200 Flex I/O and a ton of scanner cards all passing data. Any tips would be welcome. I'm new to using C-more with AB. I 've used about half the space on the panel so far as it is mainly a troubleshooting device and I'm trying to look at a lot of data. Do I need to buy the USB-Flash or EA-SD-CARD from automation direct or will any USB/SD card work?

You must use the half duplex DF1 serial protocol. When you set up the panel you can add PLCs to the same serial port where you are allowed to put in the PLC address I am not sure if you are using a 485 serial protocol or 232. You need to use a USB2 for the USB data logger.

I 've been working on this and the C-more is currently setup for Allen-Bradley DF1 Full Duplex(SLC500). When I change that to the Half Duplex I get a PLC-002 Nak received from PLC error.
I'm using the SLS-232 cable. Do I need to connect a different way or is there something else I'm missing.
I'm on the rslinx data highway and have all 6 PLCs connected. I just can't get into anything but the one I'm directly connected to for this C-more.
Thanks for any help you can give!

When you change from DF1 Full to DF1 Half on C-more, you would also have to make that change in the PLC Channel Configuration for that port. I think you need to fully explain your connections. It sounds like you have RSLinx connected over Data-Highway to several PLCs? And that the C-more is connected to a SLC5/04? That processor has two ports, a DH+ port(which C-more cannot connect to), and a configurable RS232 DB9(DF1 Full, DF1 Half, or DH485).
If you 're trying to have multiple slave PLCs, you'll need media converters like 1761-NET-AIC. See the C-more helpfile topic CM012 as an example (it shows a DH485 network, but for DF1 half-duplex you can only have a single mastering device).

I had that similar error from Micrologix plcs. If for instance you have N7:1 in your program and not in the c-more, you get that error. It is waiting for a response. I might have it backwards if the C-more or the plc is looking for the response.

Thanks, I am new to networking the AB products and missed that port. I think I can reconfigure it and get connected.
