Is there a reason why I cannot use the D2-DSCBL programming cable to program a Micro EA1-S3MLW?

    The big reason is that it does not supply the necessary voltage to power the C-more Micro.

    That is certainly a very good reason,:) however, if the OP's project happens to need a EA-MG-P1 or EA-MG-SP1 (e.g. non-ADC PLC) then I'd think one could probably use the D2-DSCBL ? but either of those adapters costs around as much as a EA-MG-PGM-CBL, so unless the adapter is otherwise needed one might as well just get the EA-MG-PGM-CBL (though actually, the EA-MG-P1 is a little less expensive)
