I have a customer that has a EA7-T15C panel that was installed in September of 2008. Firmware is 2.78.The panel is becoming unresponsive to touch. It will always work from a remote device. Is there any remedy other than panel replacement? Is there service available for the Cmore?

Does it remain unresponsive after a power cycle?

Yes. Occasionally it will respond to repeated touches.

Is the CMore connected to Ethernet? Recently I 've had a problem with an 8 " unit that stopped responding to its touch screen because there was a problem with another device on the network. This caused so much traffic issues that it slowed the touch panel response to a crawl. Even in "test " for the touch panel it took it a while to catch up. Once we un-plugged the Ethernet, it worked normally. (It's configured as a ftp server and the Ethernet is used to gather production information from the CF card in the CMore)

Yes it is.

Remote access works fine, would this be the case if network traffic was the problem?
A new screen appears to have fixed the problem. I have put about 30 of these in service since 2007. This is the second one that I have replaced for this same problem. Both of them were purchased in the fall of 2010. Bad batch?

Re: Dead screens
We had several screens go bad, no response when touching them, going black, ect....BASICALLY if you get 4 plus years service out of the screen count your blessings. Every screen we had go bad was 5 years old or older...most died after upgrading the firmware. So, ever since that happened we only upgrade the firmware when we absolutely have too.
When you tell your supervisor you killed 3 screens in one week they kinda get a little bit annoyed. :)

These forums are replete with 15 inch C-more issues. We 've had so many problems that we 've stopped using them. Customers seem to be just as happy with the 12 or even 10 inch models and we 've never had any problems with those although I do miss all the real estate the big screen provides.

We 've got about 8 or 9 of the 15 " screens here and not a single issue with any of them....upgrade the firmware as they come out and making changes or adding to the program is fairly routine...possibly some other issue is causing your failures?

I would love to know what my "issues " are. I have only had two fail and they were 200 miles apart running totally different applications. AD's silence on this thread has been deafening.

Somehow I missed this thread.
I do not know of any issues with the C-More touchscreens being unresponsive to touch in any of the models.
For qualifying panels we offer a core exchange program. You can contact our returns department with the serial number of the panel in question to see if it qualifies.
