I want to interfeace a C-more panel with a Yaskawa CP-317M processor. What would be the appropriate PLC protocol to use to establish communications. Both the PLC and C-more panel are connected through an ethernet switch. In other words, how would I set up DEV001 in the panel manager to make this work? Thanks.

Good Question. I tried to find a manual on line to see what ethernet protocols the YASKAWA controller talked, but I couldn't find one. But that's a good place to start.

In the "Panel Manager ", Delete "DEV001 " in the "comm port " section, and then click "ADD ", there you get a list of CMORE available protocols, choose the appropriate Ethernet protocal, and you will get choices for addressing the PLC, and other information.

Perhaps your controller will talk Modbus TCP/IP.

In a Galaxy Far Far away...I ran into some Yaskawa plc's and they were basically a Modicon PLC, which tells me Modbus. I may be wrong, but give ModbusTCP a try.
