Is your laptop using a wired connection, WiFi or 3G?

Is it connecting outside of the Cmore local network? (IE through a router over the internet)

Is your iPhone using WiFi or 3G?

It is connecting through my router at home.

My phone will connect through wifi but not through 3G.

My laptop is wireless.

If I am connecting wirelessly outside oft network I should be able to connect right?

You will need to forward port 11102 in your router. In the c-more app on the Iphone/Ipad you will need to setup the connection. It will ask for the url or IP that the C-more is on, put the public Ip address for your internet connect at the router. If you do not have a static ip address you will need to set a DNS account and use the URL from it. Then it will ask for the user name and password. This will be the same that you use to get to the screen on the local network. It is very important that the internet connection has a public IP, if it is a nested IP thur your ISP it may not work.

Iphone app

Hi

I have tried all of the above and cannot get remote app to work outside my wireless network, It gives a panel communication timeout message. I have a netgear router and have set for public access etc. Can any one tell me what settings need to be on Cmore HMI as I have tried all my ideas. It would be great to show customers it working outside the office.

By "public access " you have forwarded port 11102? Does your internet connection to your router have a public IP address? Some ISP's will have fast public IP addresses to the internet that is shared by their customers. (1 fast public IP shared by 10 customers with an IP address assigned by the ISP) For the Ipad/Iphone app to work the router the C-More is connected has to have a public IP address. I ran into this in MN, I had customers that had to request a public IP from their ISP for the Ipad to connect. Call your ISP and ask if you are not sure. On C-More the FTP Server service has to be checked and the remote access has to be checked. and an account has to be setup, but if you can access it on your wifi local network this should be ok. If you have changed port 80 or port 11102 you will need to setup the router with the port numbers that you changed them too. If the Ipad connects and then times out, that sounds like a connection speed problem. From what I see in the field on a 3g connection you need to have at least 3/4 signal strength to make the connection and stay connected and on 4g 1/2 signal. You can check if this is the problem by hooking your Ipad to a fast wifi connection (not on the same network as the C-More) and see if it works. If it does it is your cellular connection speed. The three things I have found are 1.Router not setup properly 2 Not a public IP. (so the Ipad will not see the router's IP from the internet, it is behind the ISP's IP) 3. Connection speed. I had to go with a faster connection at my home to connect to service customers on the weekend. I could not connect, it would try but would time out, but I could connect from the DSL line at my office. I hope this helps, when it work it is great and sells systems but when it does not it will drive you "nuts ". I do a lot of rural work so before I tell the customer it will work for sure I test it. We also install long range 802.11b/g/n radios (up to 12 miles) to get the internet connection to a remote site, the remote access takes a lot of bandwidth to work without timeouts and with good response speed.

Finally got it working

I had so many things wrong no wonder it would not work.I had not set up the FTP service on both the HMI and my router firewall, I have now set inbound and outbound rules. My internet connection was fine and was a fixed/static IP already. Tested from another wireless network, remote to mine and app now works fine. I still cannot access using my iphone over 3G network but I think this is due to a naff signal. I am going to have a drive around and try in different locations.
