I am attempting to configure a network of several (approximately 7) C-More EA7-T8C panels with a host PC. A couple of years ago I asked Automation Direct what would be the best way to identify C-More panel IP addresses on this network. The answer at the time was to use static IP addresses for the C-More panels. I would like to know if there is a better answer at this time. I have configured the C-More panels as ftp servers so that the PC can push recipes to the panels and also pull logged results data from the panels. The software running on the PC currently communicates with the C-More panels at pre-established IP addresses. This requires that the PC Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties be changed to "Use the following IP address: " instead of "Obtain an IP address automatically ". My understanding is that there is no information that can be retrieved from the C-More panel using ftp that uniquely identifies the device. If this were possible, the PC software could poll all IP available devices or a range of IP addresses to determine to which device to connect. The basic question is this: How can I configure the network so that the PC software can communicate with several C-More panels without using a static IP address on the PC (and I assume, therefore on the C-More panels)? I need to do this in a way that allows the PC software to know which C-More panel is at each IP address. Thanks for your help, Hamilton Woods

You can, technically, configure each C-more to retrieve the IP dynamically through DHCP and then use the C-more programming software to browse and determine what the IP is for each panel against the unique names you have configured for the panel. Is this what you are looking for?
I don't quite understand the problem that you are having.
Is it an issue of having a static IP on your PC? You can have static IP's on the C-more panels and then have a dynamic IP on your PC as long as the DHCP server is setup correctly (reserve a range for static IPs on your nework). This is typically how I do it.
