Having to reboot C-more

I have a C-more and 450 at a remote site that has been operating for about 6 months. On two occasions I have had to have someone go to the site due to inability to access the C-more by the internet. The LEDs on the back of the panel indicate good power and the CPU is working but the screen is blank and the com ports are not working. The only way to get it working agian is to disconnect the power for a minute then reconnect it. After that it works fine. It logs the data from the plc but will not allow connection from the router or display a screen. Has any one else had this problem? How do I prevent it from happening agian?

I haven't had trouble, but seems I 've read here of a few problems related to incoming power on these.

Anybody helping out on this will want to know what you are powering it with, ie.. Cmore AC adapter, seperate 24 volt supply, other stuff run off the supply, etc..

    Good Luck,

    Power supply

It is set up with the AC power adapter. The 120 power supply has a filter/conditioner on it that also powers the PLC and we have not had any problems with the PLC.

The EA-AC power adapter has some circuitry to allows a controlled shutdown of the panel if power is lossed. If the incoming power is noisy or if the grounding is not good or there is a lot of electrical noise around the panel, the EA-AC can cause this problem.

    You have a few choices:

    1) Check your grounding, check your supply, check for electrical noise from a nearby drive.

    2) Replace the EA-AC with a dedicated 24VDC power supply and see if the issue is resolved. If so, then there is noise coming from somewhere driving the signal from the adapter to the panel to shutdown.

I had the same problem. I ran a ground and that didn't work. I replaced the AC adapter with a dedicated 24vDC power supply, that didn't remedy it. I finally added a programmable relay(mini PLC) with a timer sequence that turns the 24vDC power off to the C-More every 3 days for about 30 seconds then turns power back on. It's been running flawlessly for approximately 4 months since I did this.

    Grounding?

I always power my screens with dedicated power supplies with stand-by batteries.

I had a screen that need resetting 3 or 4 times a month. After replacing the power supply, screen.....

Problem solved by reconnecting the ground to a better electrical gound point......................

If you have to reboot every few days, you should call technical support and see if they can help you.

    Ditto That!

I have several screens being used for data collection systems, and they are on for weeks(if not months) at a time with no need to reboot. You have another problem somewhere that should be found and fixed.

    Just my $.02

I contacted tech support several times. I tried everything they suggested, including dedicated grounds, replacing c-more upgrading to the latest c-more software and hardware updates, dedicated 24VDC power supply, rebuilding my program, turning screen saver on, turning screen saver off, mounting c-more in it's own control box, etc. Nothing worked until I added the timer relay.

I have a 8 "cmore touchscreen that has been locking up also. I am using the good communication bit on the touchscreen to let the plc know the screen has a heartbeat. If no heartbeat is found i toggle a relay from the plc that turns the touchscreen off for 5 secs. When it boots back up everything is perfect.

The problem is now that the screen is displaying a heartbeat to the plc but the screen is not updating.(locked). There has to be a better way of actually knowing the screen is working.

    please advise
