I 've got a C-More connected to an Ethernet-based inductrial network over a wireless connection. The C-More is plugged into a LAN port on a router and the PLC it's connected to is plugged into a consumer-grade wireless network bridge that is configured to connect to the wireless router.

My recommendation would be to do the same. If budget is a concern, get a cheap Ethernet-to-Wireless bridge, something like http://http://www.dlink.ca/products/?pid=DWL-810%2b . Otherwise, get two configurable radios from someplace like Moxxa.

Connect your DL06 to the bridge. Make sure you have a compatible IP address and subnet

I assume you already have a wireless router in your house. Set up the bridge to automatically connect to your router.

My personal opinion would be to not use C-more Micro but to use the standard C-more panel with built in Ethernet and then place a H0-ECOM100 Ethernet module in the 06.

I always prefer to use the native Ethernet functionality of a device over using converters any day unless I have to. Especially if those converters are from a different manufacturer. This avoids a lot of finger pointing if/when something is not working like you would expect it to.

Thanks for the input guys. I definitely have my eye on one of the better CMore's with native ethernet. However, given all of the outlay on my DIY turbine, the CFO of the house (the wife) is watching me like a hawk and I am trying to stay under her radar :). I figure that I can use the micro to learn the ropes, satisfy my short term needs and then shift it to the home automation project I am thinking of a little later on in the year. I will give it a shot and report the results.

I have an induction wind turbine that is powered by a DL06 (first PLC project - works awesome!) and I would like to connect a CMORE micro to it. Here is the challenge - I want the Micro in the house and the turbine and DL06 are 140 feet from the house. I imagine that I could go RS485, but if I could I would like to use serial to ethernet convertors as I have a couple of them and I would like to stay away from running wire from the house out there and go wireless ethernet as the turbine is a 105 foot lightning rod if you get my drift. The convertors are Lantronix units and can connect from one to the other, tunneling the serial over the network. Have any of you gurus out there used these convertors to remotely connect your Cmore's? I know that I will need to optional power supply, but other than that, I do not see why it won't work, but...you know Murphy and his laws! I would also like to use the same mechanism to remotely connect to the PLC through port 1 as well. Any thoughts?
