Installed for the first time the 2.53 Cmore programming software. Everything goes fine with the installation. I reboot and then attempt to run it. the splash screen comes up and then I get a dialog box that says "Windows Installer " Preparing to install. Then it just hangs and does nothing. I uninstalled it, reinstalled it . Rolled back the system restore a month, installed all windows updates and then installed the cmore again and I get the same message. Anybody else have this problem? I shut off all Virus protection, firewall and spy protection before the installation. I always get the same result. I can't contact tech support until Monday and I wanted to get some work done!

Loaded without a hitch on my laptop where there is no anti-virus or firewall. I think its time to switch to a different AV on my desktop or time for a new computer.

I am having the same problem

I have a fairly new dell laptop that I use for programming several types of plc's (allen bradley, siemens, etc.) I have no issues installing other software. I have the exact same problem and have had no luck in installing. I hate to reinstall operating system and all my software just to get this to run, but I am running out of options. Hopefully tech support is working on this.

After frying my MB in the laptop, I installed it again on another older laptop without a problem. However, still can't put it on my desktop PC. However, it has a lot of programming applications also. Might be a registry OS screwup. Make sure to post the sollution if they come up with one. Inquiring minds want to know.

You guys could setup a virtual machine to install the Cmore software on. I don't know of any particular service pack or patch that causes problems, but you could explore those options without screwing up your normal install.

will wait before I install latest

Well. I can't afford a new computer and at this point would rather not reinstall the OS. Thanks for the warning!

dlopez35, Just curious did you have the demo version installed prior to installing the full blown version? Did you try to uninstall the demo first?

Actually we were sold version 2.52 and we tried to install it on my laptop. I got the same results of windows installer after boot up and it would not continue. I called support and they suggested we download the demo version 2.53 and try installing it. I got the same results. I then installed this software on my desktop and it worked. So there is something on my laptop that is not allowing it to install.

So the software never ran n the laptop sucessfully, correct?

This usually indcates a missing Windows component. Reinstalling XP SP2 or SP3, depending on which one you are running already, may fix the issue.

Another solution is to reinstall the OS, but that is a tough one to ask.

Beyond that it could be a registry issue. But I hesitate to tell someone to modify their registry.

I seem to have the exact same issue. I have insured that anti-virus is off and I have admistrative rights when installing. I hope there is a solution better than reinstalling Windows....

Has the software ever ran on the PC you are trying to install it on now? If so, which version of software was it and how long has it been since it ran?

Have you tried reinstalling Windows XP SP2 or SP3?

Also, have you tried it on another PC?
