I have an application that requires PWM control and I'm not sure what type of PLC or PLC module can be utilized. The output of several DC motors is to be controlled using various duty cycles (easily modified) with a constant 10kHz frequency. It should be a square wave. I 've looked at the CTRIO but it's not clear if it will work. Will a PLC work for this type of application? If so, what type of module will work for the PWM control and can a square wave be achieved? Can a program be developed that will allow easy adjustment of the duty cycles or should an HMI be considered?

Are you trying to make a PWM for an application. An PLC can give you the square wave but not the power, you have to drive something else from the PLC.
There are a lot of PWM out there that you can buy.

Try looking at this
EA1-S6ML
D0-06DD1
D0-DCM
STP-DRV-80100
STP-MTRH-34127
Never done it this way but possible, AD keeps expanding
Good job AD
