OP-640 display question

I'm doing some consulting and the company I am working for ordered an OP-640 display. They want to have the ability to change timer presets and display data; I don't think the OP-640 can change timer presets, only display variable data. I think they need a DV-1000; is that the best unit? Oh yeah, they are using a DL06 processor. Is there any way to change timer presets with an OP-640?

The C-More Micro might be a better fit. And free software.

I agree with Bernie, the C-more micro would have been a much better choice. Much easier to configure and customize and get the addresses mapped to the PLC.

However, if you don't have very many presets to change, you may be able to use a couple buttons with some ladder logic to select a timer value, and a couple other buttons with some more logic to increase/decrease the preset value. See chapter 5 of the online manual for address mapping examples.

But, for $189, the c-more micro can give you a "numeric entry " button mapped to the preset and give you a keypad for direct entry, and be much more intuitive for an operator to figure out.

    Good Luck either way,

Could anyone help with how to access the timer counter presets?

How do you manipulate the preset so it will increment and decrement?

Also, how do you clear a line of the display? Do you have to load a zero into it?

The previous message stays up on the screen, even when the rung goes false.

This is a product which takes a lot of PLC code to support. I would suggest that you call in to Tech Support and get some help with these questions.

Even accessing timer presets? Are they in the memory map?

Surely there must be some way of doing this? Can you elaborate why it would be so difficult?
