I just installed the latest c-More Micro software, v.2.0.0.0, and it messed up all my fonts in Windows and Firefox. I'm running Vista Home Premium, fully updated. An uninstall fixed the fonts issue, but I'd like to use the new C-More software. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks, Ryan Poethke

    All,

Below is my email to the tech support folks at AD. They emailed me to see if they could help :>)

    Team C-more Micro,

Thanks for the response to my problem. Interestingly, I believe it had something to do with Firefox. After I posted, I installed Firefox 3.0, and then downgraded to the latest release of Firefox 2, as I had problems with several sites displaying correctly. Not sure if it was the uninstall/install process, or if it had something to do with installing the C-More Micro software again (with Firefox shut down), but all the fonts are now as they should be. Very strange problem that seems to have fixed itself. I'll be posting this "solution " on the TechForum, in case others have this issue.

Thank you for listening and responding to your customers ' needs,

    Sincerely,

    Ryan Poethke

Font issues with latest C-more Micro release

I don't believe this problem had anything to do with Firefox. I am having the same problem with C-More Micro V 2.20.0.0

    What I have observed:

    1. Start C-More Micro software from Start menu and software loads. System fonts are unchanged. Font smoothing (Cleartype in my case) is enabled under " Display Properties/Appearance/Effects/Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts "

    2. Open a project from the file menu in c-more micro software. As the file loads, systems fonts are changed and font smoothing is disabled. Looking back at the display properties page, the checkbox for font smoothing is cleared.

    3. Font changes remain in effect while system stays booted.

    4. Reboot and system fonts and font smoothing return to original settings.

    Other notes:

    1. If I cancel out of the open project menu, system font settings are unchanged. The changes occur while a project is loading.

    2. Since the font settings return to normal upon reboot, the settings are being changed in memory and are not being saved. Ryan, I believe this is why your settings returned to normal. At some point during your install/re-install of Firefox and C-More software you probably rebooted.

    System Info:

    C-More Micro v2.20.0.0

    Windows XP Home

    DPI 134%

    Core2Duo 2 GHz

    2 GB Ram

Behavior is the same under Windows 2000 Prof.

System menu font is changed and font smoothing are disabled when a project is loaded. This seems to be by design. I would not consider this good program behavior. Making changes to system display settings, even if temporary, without user approval is a no-no. I hope this is corrected in the next software release.

I also hope the annoying warning about DPI settings on startup is removed. I can understand if the software cannot correctly handle higher DPI settings (most software under windows can't), but don't make me cancel the warning EVERY time I start the software.

I have reported this to the folks in charge of the Cmore micro development.

Edit: We are able to duplicate this. We will forward it to Koyo this afternoon.

    Adam13,

You 're right that it has nothing to do with Firefox. It was just the first program I noticed a problem with. The strange behavior with fonts is just something I 've learned to live with, when programming with the C-more micro. I'd love if the problem were fixed in the next release, and I agree with the statement that any program that messes with system settings without asking is bad.

    Thanks,

    Ryan Poethke
