I have had the following occur at a customer site on three occasions. The system has 2 12 " C-more screens communication to the PLC network by both ethernet and serial, and 4 7 " screens communicating with local DL205s over serial. The first incident was that the "master " 12 " C-more's date and time suddenly jumped back roughly two months. That same day, the "remote " 12 " did the same thing. (These screens have different programs) This occurred during a production shift, no power downs, no outages, etc. When they called me, I figured that maybe something glitched, and it restored the program from flash, and the date was carried over. (I am using the internal clock/calendar, not the PLC's). I had loaded the program "about " two months earlier. The second time involved all four of the 7 " screens. Over a twenty minute period, each of the four set their own dates back about two months. Once again, this occurred about two months after the last software and firmware updates loded to them. These first two incidents occurred in February and March. The firware was at "I ", then, I think. In May, I went to the site to install some new features, and updated the programs and firmware in all of the C-More panels. Today, I received a call that the master screen just rolled back to May 24th 2007. I installed the updates on 5/9/07, so it didn't roll back to the last back-up date. The fimware is at level "K ". I am curious to see if the other screens do the same thing. I am almost suspecting that it is something to do with Windows CE

This is problem we have heard about from just a handful of customers, but we have not been able to duplicate. There were some clock synchronization issues corrected in the latest release, 1.31, but we do not know if it fixed this particular issue since we have not seen it ourselves.
It seems to happen in the same order the panels were updated. If panels were updated in order Panel 1, Panel 2, Panel 3,... then the time will change by the same amount in all panels in the same order. The time it takes to change after the update is not consistent, and the amount the time changes is not consistent from incident to incident. But in small groups there is some consistency.
Any more information anyone can provide would be helpful.

I just downloaded 1.31 (I was at 1.30). My customer is only about 80 miles away, maybe I'll make a trip up there and update their firmware. It can't hurt. it might take a few months to see if it helped, but, who knows.

Same problem here with a 15 inch C-More with a serial to PLC connection. Seems about every couple of months the display will show the time and date when the program was installed into the panel. A power cycle will then re-boot it and the correct date and time will be displayed. Any thoughts?

I have just installed (8/15/07) the latest firmware at my customer's site. So, I'll know in a couple of months if it helped.
I also heard another interesting thing from a friend of mine. He has another Windows CE device that does the same thing.

Just an update. Since the firmware update in August, this problem has not come up again. It has been over 3 months, so I'm calling it fixed.
