I have downloaded the demo and want to check something before I buy the whole program. I want to use the software to present objects on a screen to my subjects, and when those subjects touch the objects on my touch screen (Elo, connected to my laptop)I want those touches logged and move onto the next screen and so on. I am currently using powerpoint for training, but can't data log from this. I'm very new at this but will learn the program if it can do what I need, so forgive my ignorance.

You want to use the Cmore software to create screens that can run on an ELO touch screen?
That will not work.
The Cmore software is a programming tool for the Cmore hardware touch screens. The Cmore hardware touch screens (typically called HMI Human Machine Interface) are not just simple monitors with an analog or resistive touch grid, they are intelligent devices that formulate serial or ethernet requests based upon how they are programmed.
There may be a way to do what you are looking for with Cmore but you would probably need to describe your application in a little more detail.

I thought it was too easy. For this purpose it would be a very simple thing that needs to be recorded. Imagine a powerpoint screen, showing two objects, if one of them is touched (mouse click) I want it to record which one it was. Then move to the next screen (slide), and the subject chooses again. My uni gives zero help on these thing so I have to hunt them down myself.
Any other suggestions?

That's not much information. Some questions I would have:
What are your programming capabilities? (I.E. Visual Basic, C++, SCADA, None, etc...)
Does this application need to be deployed on multiple units? (recurring cost issue?)
Is price a factor?
Is it an industrial environment?
How much data needs to be logged? (Frequency of touches, period of time between retrieval of data, etc...)
You need to factor out whether you need a full blown PC or can you use a HMI unit. If you are deploying multiple systems and they are in an industrial environment, it may be worth your costs to figure out a way to make Cmore work.
If it's only a unit or 2 and cost is not a great factor, it will probably be easier to use a PC with various types of software to do this.

None!

No, one laptop connected to one touch screen.
Is price a factor?
Yes, hence me trying to work it out myself. Its my PhD project, using a touch screen to test apes on cognititve tasks and also allow them to choose objects and activities. Privately it will cost $45 an hour for someone to write programs for me, uni is no help whatsoever.
Is it an industrial environment?
No
How much data needs to be logged? (Frequency of touches, period of time between retrieval of data, etc...)
Later on I need the above (response time, number of touches), I'm expecting it to cost a bit, so if I can save money now on this I will and spend it on stuff I absolutely cannot work out myself.

One PC now, the more complex multi unit system will be built by the sponsers we are chasing for the zoo, but I need this one before that is done.
If it's only a unit or 2 and cost is not a great factor, it will probably be easier to use a PC with various types of software to do this.
I'm not sure what will work, my google searches led me to C-more so I thought I'd do some research on it. Any suggestions on programs that might be suitable, as I said, all I need for this set of simple experiments is just record which object was touched in order, response timen etc is not important.
Many thanks for your time by the way!

With no programming experience whatsoever, I think you may have a difficult time pulling this off.
You may want to look at the Lookout Direct software package that Automationdirect sells on this website. THere is a demo version that you can try.
I think it will still be difficult for someone that doesn't have any programming background but it would be easier than programming in Visual Basic or C++ (probably).
You may want to also try the Visual Basic forums, since this really isn't an industrial application, per se. You may find some help there at a decent price from an aspiring programmer getting their feet wet.
Any other ideas.....?

Here is another idea that may allow you to use Cmore. (Sorry, I didn't think about this before...).
Cmore does have FTP Client capability. So it would be relatively (key word here...) easy to use the Event Database function to send the data logged file out to a PC.
So for $534 (6 inch screen black and white) or $845 (6 inch screen color) you could probably accomplish what you are looking for.
I would say that as far as user configuration, this is the easiest of all paths that I can think of (short of paying someone else to do it).
