Is there going to be a software manual for the C-More display? The help screens don't cover some of the options or it says "Under Construction ". It would be very helpful to have more detail with some of the more advanced features like animation. Thanks...

Have you upgraded to the newest version? It was released this morning. The help files are much more complete than in previous versions.

The new help file is good but I would still like a software manual. Is there a chance that Koyo will be releasing one? It may sound trivial but having a reference that doesn't require scrolling up and down or switching screens back and forth would be really helpfull. I looked at just printing the help files but found that there is no index for the sections and it was difficult to find what I was looking for. Does anybody else think this makes sense or am I just too old school http://forum1.automationdirect.com/board/rolleyes.gif .

I agree with you that a software manual would be nice, but I'd rather have it in PDF format so its search-able than hard copy. The difference between on-line help files and an electronic manual may be trivial, but its just how I work best. Of course so far most of what I 've needed to do in the C-More has been so straight forward I haven't had to look at the help files much or ask too many questions.

Our customer's feedback is important as always. We hear this occasionally and understand the need. It is not the direction we planned to go as most evrything is going paperless, but maybe we should change this direction.

If we had a PDF manual, that could be downloaded and printed, would that fill the need? The problem with a printed manual is updates. By the time it is printed, it is obsolete.

    What are your thoughts?

I think pdf manuals are great...you can print the whole thing or just what you need for reference. I'm not a big fan of on-line help because you can't always take a laptop everywhere, and I like to write notes in the margins...

    That would be great!

PDF files would be great! Sometimes a hard copy on several related topics are easier to flip back and forth.

Hardcopy is my preference, but PDF would be better than nothing. Online help, especially on a small laptop screen is a real headache with screens covering each other (read help, open programming window, still stuck, open help window, read help, open programming window, still stuck, etc., etc.) or just too small to see if you try to open two windows side by side.

Also some good programming examples, like the A/D PLC User manuals would be fantastic for us beginners.

A PDF manual would be great, but I can promise you now that I'll never print the whole thing...
