Communications Timeout

When transferring my project to the C-More via Ethernet I get a "Communications Timout " error on my PC about 1 out of 3 times. If I immediately try the transfer again it works just fine. Anyone have any ideas? Also about 10% of the time when I click the "Send Project to Panel " button it takes almost a minute for the transfer window to pop up. I'm using the 15 " C-More on a private LAN (class C subnet) with 3 PLCs and a data logger PC.

I'm not sure how much network traffic you have, but it might be that it is having to 'wait ' on a clear timeslice to transmit.
Do you have Directsoft or any other software running that might be talking to the ECOMs on a constant basis?

I think you are correct about the amount of network traffic; there is a LOT of it and my problem seems to have gone away now that I replaced the $15 Best Buy network switch on my desk with an industrial network switch that has broadcast storm protection.
What about the second issue? Has anyone else seen this?

I think it may be related to the first issue. When you click the "Send Project " button, the PC pings the C-more panel that is related to the project to see if it exists on the network. If the network is busy, it may take a while to recieve the reply.

Hmm... that makes sense; I haven't seen it since the new switch went in, but that was just a few hours ago... I'll keep an eye on it and let ya'll know.
