EZTOUCH NON-STANDARD USE

Is a driver available to use the EZTOUCH or DIRECT TOUCH as a stand alone unit capable of communicating with a ASCII terminal. The screens would be programmed using the supplied software but instead of a PLC we'd like to use a laptop or other terminal as the interface device. Has anyone tried this at all >
