EZ Touch Trend/Time

I'm doing my first EZTouch appliction, using an EZ-S8C-FS. I am favorably impressed, but there are two things that seem counter intuitive, or else I haven't them figured out yet. 1) On the line trending, is there any way to have the X-Axis show a value other than number of samples. I would much prefer to have the axis show time. Is there a way to adjust the number labels on the X-Axis? 2) According to the manual, there is a button to increment the EZtouch clock by an hour, but nothing to increment minutes or seconds. This seems kind of lame. Is there any way to re-set the EZtouch clock and calaendar other than hooking in with a PC?

As far as setting the time, the only way I know to set the time is to simultaneously touch the upper-left corner and lower-left corner of the touch-screen. This takes you to the hidden setup screen, where you can set the contrast, various system settings, and the time/date (including minutes and seconds). This is nice, but perhaps not ideal for all users to know about since they can mess up the settings.

Another approach is to use the PLC's clock instead of the EZTouch's. Tell the EZTouch to use an external clock and give it the PLC's clock memory locations. If you want to change the time in this setup, you could design a screen to enter a new time and a PLC subroutine to use the DATE and TIME instructions to update the clock. Kind of complicated, but the best I'm able to come up with. http://forum1.automationdirect.com/board/smile.gif

Thanks Steven - that is a workable solution for the time set problem.

    Now for the trending?

Not only is using the PLC time more handy then having two different times (plc and eztouch, which can be confusing), there's also an example program that will adjust for daylight savings time automatically. Sorry I can't comment on the trend question.
