Will the content in the old forum be merged into the new forum? There was a lot of useful information there and as this one ages there will be a lot of good information here as well. It would be nice to only have to search in one place when I have a question before posting.

There are no current plans to merge the old with the new. We plan on keeping this accessible for the foreseeable future.
However, if you have a specific thread from the old forum that you think is a good reference let us know and we can make it into a knowledge article that then would be added to our database that would be searchable in the new community.
Do you have an idea of just how large this archive would be.
Some of us may want it to be more permanent than 'the foreseeable future.'
If it is not too large, could there be link to an archive (.zip...) file that could be downloaded.
I wouldn't want to have to run a webspider over the legacy forum.
