First program with Shift Register

When I check syntax after adding a shift register, it complains about C0202 and C0003 in my shift register rung. I see lines and have no place to insert a coil. What am I missing?

There is no coil, the shift register is the output instruction. The register addresses should be contiguous locations, and it may not like leading zero;s.

    • mtczapla (Customer)

Yes. I know there is no coil. But the C error code is complaining about a missing coil. It makes no sense.

Inside the shift register, I entered a start bit of C2 and end bit of C8. No zeros.

Are there inputs connecting to all three inputs of the shift register?

    • mtczapla (Customer)

      Yes.

Data connects to some X inputs.

Clock connects to 1sec clock SC7.

Reset connects to 1st scan SC2.

My only recommendation is if you could screenshot an image of your code and attached it here.

I have entered a program on my Click software similar to your description. No errors shown.

Is there a way for you to Email or upload a copy of your program?

Click on the Shift Register and tap your left arrow key to cycle backwards through the rung. Verify there are no breaks in any of the legs (Data/Clock/Reset). C0202 is a missing line connection (a break in the rung).

C0003 will occur if you have a contact on a rung that doesn't terminate to the output column, which would also happen via a break in the rung.

I agree with 04. When I loaded your program I found that the clock input was not connected on the shift register instruction. This may not show on a smaller screen and you might spot it by using the scroll bar at the bottom of the logic window.
