Hi, I have an intermittent issue with an AutomationDirect SVA-2100.
Sometimes after powering the drive OFF/ON, when Servo Enable is activated, the motor suddenly accelerates in reverse at very high speed, with no reverse or motion command. It eventually faults with ALE07 (Overspeed) and/or ALE09 (Excessive Deviation). After another power cycle, it may work normally.
I have already tested:
- Pulse/Direction disconnected
- RS485 disconnected
- Jog disconnected
- EMI/ferrite filters
- Grounding/input resistors
- Two different SVA-2100 drives, including a new one
The motor only moves when Servo Enable is activated.
Could this be related to encoder feedback, motor commutation, or the drive's initialization when Servo Enable is activated?
What parameters or diagnostic values should I check to determine whether the drive is generating the torque incorrectly or interpreting the encoder feedback incorrectly?

I had this problem one time a long ways back. I don't remember if it turned out to be a bad cable, bad motor, or bad drive. But something between all those was causing bad position communication between the devices and I remember that replacing whatever part it was fixed the problem for me.
I wish I could replace the Servomotor, but we don't have a new one anymore, and my client doesn't have a new one either...

2.) What is your alarm history?
3.) Are you sure UVW connections are tight?
4.) Primary power connections are tight?
5.) Encoder cable is good, not worn?
6.) Encoder connections good?
