July 2026 - Lika Electronic Linear Encoders

Introducing our new linear encoders which combine a sliding encoder body and a magnetically coded strip to provide extremely accurate linear position detection over distances up to 20 meters. A quadrature output results in accuracy up to 0.01mm, with single-increment repeatability (0.01mm/count) at speeds up to 20 m/s.

Lika Electronic Linear Encoders

  • AME95 series IP67 encoder bodies are user-positioned above the ATI series adhesive-backed flexible tape. A generous 2.5mm gap is allowed between the encoder body and the tape. The tape is available in lengths up to 20 meters and can be cut to length. A stainless-steel cover is provided to protect the tape with end clamps available to protect the ends and provide additional mounting security.
  • AMIG series IP65 encoder bodies are captive-to and slide along the rigid ATIG series aluminum rails, which contain and protect the magnetically coded material. The sliding arrangement maintains the proper positional gap and the rail's single bolt mounting provides alignment flexibility. The rails are available in six lengths, from 195mm to 650mm.

Both series encoders are medium-duty and are available with 5 VDC line driver (differential) or 10–30 VDC push-pull (totem) outputs, with attached two-meter cables or 8-pin M12 quick disconnects. M12 cables are available in shielded, continuous-flexing variants for use in cable-carrier drag chains. For pricing and additional information please use the link above or below:

Thanks for getting these in. I know I definitely have uses for linear tape encoders.

Any chance you will expand the line to include some of Lika's absolute heads and tapes? I know the main issue there is that Automation Direct products do not support SSI and BiSS absolute interfaces, but it would be nice to have a model you could pull the absolute location from over E/IP or ModbusTCP.

Or more preferably, AD could just release BiSS-C HSI modules for Productivity and Do-More.
