GSoft2 "The semaphore timeout period has expired" when connected via USB

Whenever I leave the USB cable plugged into the VFD and PC, a couple of days later I can't connect using GSoft2 anymore. "The semaphore timeout period has expired". I tried using a different USB cable but maybe it's not good enough to maintain a consistent connection with the drive? I've set all my USB ports to not go into sleep mode after a period of time, but this hasn't fixed my issue. Also stopped using the front USB ports on my PC for this and and use the ones directly connected to the motherboard.

Are you leaving the drive connected to the GSoft2 software for extended periods?

Yes, I'm away from my residence and am trying to control a motor over the network. I thought there might be a better way to connect, but I've read that GSoft2 only works with USB so I likely won't try to connect to the VFD the way I am currently.

GSoft is only intended for relatively short term connections for programming and testing.

Look into using Modbus or Ethernet/IP to control the drive. Those protocols are designed for this type of application.
