Device will not show in Codesys scan.

I have a device that I was previously able to scan for and connect to via codesys. I was troubleshooting an issue with my project not being able to download without a codementer error when there was a visualization in my project and got to a point, I was looking at the certificates in the device to see if that could be an issue. I shut down my device for the day after not finding a solution to that error then could not scan for the device the next day.

 

I am able to ping the device from command prompt, but I am unable to scan for it in my codesys project. I tried to see if I could wipe the project out of the system, but the P2CDS firmware project could not see the device either.

 

I have also tried setting the adjust ethernet settings parameter in the NetConfig window of the codesys project back to true and tried to reconnect with the USB connection without progress.

    The USB connection does show up in the device manager.

    I'm looking to see if it show up in Windows Network Connections.

     

    You can type in to the windows search bar network and you should see the option View network connections. It will be a unidentified network and the device would be a remote NDIS Network Device.

     

    If it is there you can try the following:

    • Look at the details and get the IPV4 address
    • Open windows command prompt and type arp -a
    • Look for that IPV4 address listed next to Interface then -->
    • Look for a dynamic ip address under that list, for me it's always the first on the list.
    • Try entering that ip address in manually in Codesys Communication Settings

     

    If this doesn't work then I would continue with the replacement. My apologies for the issues you're experiencing.

    For reference the P2CDS_NetConfig settings only get applied on project upload if changes have been made.

     

    There's a couple other things to try if you haven't already.

    • Use our firmware update tool to discover and change the network settings if needed.
    • Try the Extended Scan to see if the device ip shows up.

     

    Is the 2nd screenshot the USB network device? I would try setting that back to dhcp and see if it discovers.

    I do not see any devices show up in the firmware update tool. I see the ethernet port on the P2CDS-622 flash anytime I press refresh in the update tool, but I do not see any devices show up in the tool.

     

    Nothing showed up with the extended scan. (I tried this both with the settings above and with the dhcp setting)

     

    The second screenshot is my PC's network settings for the ethernet port I am connected to on the P2CDS-622 on. Results seem to be the same if I set this back to dhcp.

    I forgot to mention if you haven't already done this, leave the cpu's switch in stop mode and do a power cycle when trying to discover the device again.

     

    If you know the ip address it was originally, you could manually enter that in the communication settings device path.

     

    Also see if the USB connection shows up in Windows network connections. It would be a Remote NDIS Network Device.

    No luck with the stop mode power cycle then scanning in codesys or for the firmware updater.

     

    I entered in the IP address of the device that I was able to ping from command prompt and no luck.

     

    The USB connection does show up in the device manager.

     

    The device I have was purchased in the warranty window so I am looking to get a replacement.
