I'm at my wit's end here. On my field programming laptop DirectSOFT runs like butter. On my desktop computer it runs like garbage. Every time I scroll it takes roughly one entire second for the screen to redraw, which makes working with large programs pretty annoying. Desktop is 8th gen i7, laptop is a Xeon E-2176. Both had Windows 11 reinstalled last week and have basically nothing else installed. Drivers are up to date. I did disable Defender and run the installer as Admin on both.
Another interesting detail is that the laptop shows most of the display dialogs with the much older looking bold system font (like from Win95) and doesn't have the tab scrollers in the Options window. I think that I accidentally did something on the to get a really drastic performance difference, but I'm not sure what that might be. None of the Windows compatibility settings did anything. I'm hoping that maybe someone on here has some insights. Thanks in advance!
On the desktop, what is the screen resolution and Windows Display Settings > Scale and layout setting?
I've seen similar issues with other software when using a 4k monitor and/or oddball scaling.
Have you done an uninstall-reinstall? Make sure you save/have your license key. Backup everything first before doing this, just in case.
