Has anyone had success using node-red to the RS485 port of the P1K communicating Modbus RTU to a computer? Google and YouTube has been a bust for me.

I am using THIS USB ADAPTER on my computer and I can't get that to communicate and switching the A+, B- wires made no difference.

      Nope.

What I want to do is read the values of the PV's of my 4 PIDs and write values for setpoints to the PIDs from a computer without needing PSuite, This so my customer can do so from their computer.

I follow Garry's video but what is the code used to get the values from his temp sensor and where are they displayed in Node red? Where do you write the values in Code red?

All I get from this video is him passing through a computer the values from the temp sensor and showing it as text in the display of a P2K.

I also can't get the adapter to communicate. Is this because I don't have the right "flow" in node red? Who knows. I know I have the ports set properly.

Thanks Garry, I'll purchase that model and give it a try.

I agree with you that the adapter used makes all the difference.

I had no success with THIS one or THIS one.
