Issues with connecting to LS Electric XEM-DP32H2 PLC for first time.

Thought I would try out the new line of PLC's AD has now, LS Electric. Downloaded the XG5000 software, did normal install. cannot connect to PLC. Went through documentation and videos on how to connect and create a new project, still cannot connect. I keep getting this pop-up...

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software. Tried connecting using USB and Ethernet connections. Can someone help me out? I can't seem to figure out what I'm missing.

  • ADC_LSElectricPLC_PE (AutomationDirect)

    Right click on the program link. Select Properties and go to the Compatibility tab. Check the "Run this program as an administrator". That will make it so you don't have to right click on the program all the time when you run it.

    Try running XG5000 as an administrator. Was XG5000 installed to the default directory?

    So running as an administrator worked! Any suggestions on what to change so that I don't need to open it as an administrator?
