3.17, connected via ethernet, firewall off, also tried serial with a usb adapter.
Do you know the I.P. address? Have you tried to see if you can connect via the web browser (page 5-3 below manual link)? This won't allow firmware update but more for testing purposes to see if you can get a good connection.

Do you have the correct adapter (NIC) selected? Could be trying to look on different adapter?

That was it the adapter i needed wasn’t there before , but now it is! I’ll take the win.
