C-More transfer program w/o overwriting recipes?

I am working with an EA9-T10WCL, and was wondering if there is a way to:

--Transfer a project update without overwriting the recipe values on the HMI (a feature that TIA Portal supports)

or

--easily transfer the recipe values from the HMI into my project.

I know that you can back up the HMI recipes to a flash drive, and import that into the project, but that seems clunky, plus my company doesn't support non-encrypted flash drives, so that isn't a good option for me.

Thanks!

On EA9 the only option is to backup the recipe to a SD card or USB drive. Transfer the project then restore the recipe from the device. This is all done locally through the System Screens.

On CM5 you can use the Data Maintenance tool under the Panel Tab in the software t read the recipe file and then write it back after loading the project.

I understand the the ideal solution would be to have the option to not overwrite the Recipes on a Project Transfer.

    Hi Garry,

Thanks for the link, my issue is that the import/export requires .csv files. I am working on a machine where the operators can change some of the recipe values. My problem is that when I have to make a quick bug fix on the HMI, I keep overwriting their recipe changes. This isn't an issue on our Siemens HMIs as you can update the HMI program without updating the recipes.

I was hoping for a button in the C-More software that would import the recipe values directly from the HMI when connected over USB, as right now I have to:

-get flash drive and plug it into the HMI

    -backup recipes

-use intermediate computer to copy .csv file onto an encrypted flash drive for use with my main laptop.

    -import .csv into project.

i have the same issue with the new CM5 HMIs also. Having an HMI recipe system causes the recipes to all get wiped any time i upload a new HMI update to the screen. Can the recipe data be made retentive?

Same problem here, each upload overwrite the data, if i leave the data empty you cant edit it in the hmi

Thank you for pointing out the Data Maintenance tool. I just finished my first project with a CM5 HMI, and the Data Maintenance tool worked much better to relatively quickly grab the recipe file and import it into my project. This is definitely something I can work with.

The computer has a registry where the address is stored, most programs run via this registry to locate the program. If the address is not found then you get a message, this might give an option to browse for the program. You can search the registry and alter the addresses to match or a Reg cleaning may? do this and advise you. All tedious and uncertain, far easier to re-install the program.
