EA9 V6.61 software crashes when selecting a pushbutton object

I updated to V6.61 in August from 6.51

all was good until while at a customer's site I found that the software crashes when selecting a pushbutton to edit. all other object types worked as expected. While on a phone call with support I started the software up and went to recreate the issue while talking to Jeff. The problem did not occur at that moment. The difference was that I was connected to the company's network. Jeff and I dug in deeper - I disconnected from the network and selected the pushbutton to edit -- crash occurred. So, the question is this - where is the function call that insists on looking in my profile for being on line to my company network and can that be modified? The failure happens even when starting with a clean interface program and creating the one and only object, a pushbutton.

I uninstalled the software and downloaded the zip file (this morning - 9/29) - same behavior. I cannot be on the company network at all customer locations - please advise.

Type of panel EA9-15CL-R. ECOM protocol.

thanks
