The ViewMarq simply drops the TCP connection after the idle timeout setting and connects again upon request.
So unless I want to talk to it with more then one PLC there isn't any reason to have it timeout?
In general it is not good practice to have idle devices connected on a network. There i no harm in it timing out and reconnected when it needs to. IT does not cause any errors or comm issues.
