Greetings fellow travelers, I humbly climb the mountain to ask for the guru's help. :) I have a nice flat 11 mA going into my input card from a Vaisala HMM30C configured for 0-20 mA using the COM and CH5. (CH1 is working well at 16500 or so for another measured value.) I'm using an external Rhino power supply to drive the cards and the transmitters. I believe I have everything configured correctly: Input Card is in slot 1: LD/K800, OUT/V700, LDA/O3000, OUT/V701 I am washing it through the "smooting ladder, " LDD/V3010 (CH5,) BIN, BTOR, SUBR/V3704 . . . etc. My other channels are unoccupied at the moment, here is what I get: n102590 Any ideas where that overflow is coming from? I almost hesitate to ask, I know it is going to be simple. :) Do I have to use the on board power supply to drive the cards? Many thanks, Steve

PS . . . I did a search of the ladder for V3010 and the only instance of V3010 (or by extension V3011) is the first line of the smoothing rung.

Try shorting the unused inputs to common.

It looks like a negative number (top bit set - '8 ').

Thank you for the suggestions, guys. It magically fixed itself, no wiring changes. I 've used this ladder a few times, I have no idea what happened.

Just keep in mind
kewakl's first maxim : any problem that magically fixes itself, will magically unfix itself!
kewakl's first maxim's first corollary : at the most inopportune time

The odd part is I 've used this ladder in six other instruments. One of which I put in my luggage and flew to a spit of land in the middle of the ocean call "Mauritius " where it is still running.
AD makes some good stuff.
(Though if I ever get my hands around the neck of the guy that decided on the clip mechanism for the 05/06 cards . . .) :)
