Adding a C0-08TD2 output module to an existing CLICK project

Our furnace control systems use a control program written for a CLICK + 5 I/O modules; I now want to add a 6th module (C0-08TD2 output) to that control program. I can add the module to the System Configuration in the project software file and enter the additional logic for the new module's outputs, but when I write the updated project to the PLC, the System Monitor display still only shows the CPU + 5 modules and I can't get physical output (voltages) from that 6th module. I do get a message while writing the project to the PLC asking me if I want to use the System Configuration in my PC software (CPU + 6 modules) or in my PLC (CPU + 5 modules), but no matter which option I choose, only the CPU + 5 modules shows up in the PC. How do I properly add this 6th module to my control program in the PLC?

My first thought is, make sure you are using the latest version of the software.

Thanks for your responses Ridgeline Mach and kewakl. We worked all day Sunday and were finally successful in resolving the problem. It turned out that the connecting receptacle on the 5th module (a C0-08TR to which we were connecting the C0-08TD2 module) was broken in a way that allowed only partial connection to the C0-08TD2. The C0-08TD2 green light turned on, but the poor connection to the C0-08TR would not allow the CPU to detect the C0-08TD2 as being installed.

When kewakl wrote: "From your post, I cannot determine that you have PHYSICALLY installed the 6th module, please confirm. ", that got us thinking that we might actually have a connection problem, even though we ASSUMED we had physically installed the 6th module properly due to its green light turning on.

We replaced the defective C0-08TR with a new one and were immediately successful in getting both the C0-08TD2 green light and the CPU to automatically add the C0-08TD2 to the System Configuration without further delay.

Lesson learned: if the CLICK I/O module you are adding has problems with being detected, check the connection receptacle of the adjacent module as a possible source of the problem.
