I'm hoping someone has experience with this - I am trying to use a scrolling marquee with a D260 CPU on Port 2. After speaking with ADC Tech Support I setup port 2 per their instructions. I would like to send data starting from V3000 (Temperature Values) from F2-04THM. Everything I have tried so far has failed. I used both the "PRINT " and the "PRINTV " commands in DS5. If anyone can provide any advice, it would be appreciated.

List the particular display, the electrical hookup between the DL and the display, any switches or selections made on the display and a copy of the instructions (juts a small section of the program) you are using. What exactly happens?

You don't mention what type of communication protocal or wiring protocal or brand of display. That info will help folks here help you.
If you need to send out ASCII info, see the end of chapter 5 of the D2 user manual.
DOH, Bernie beat me again.

The display is an Easy Automation EZMR-2L10C.
Communications is RS232C. Baud is 9600, 8, none, 1
Cable length is approx 25ft.
I took the default setting on all other switches since I have only 1 display.
It appears that I am not communicating with the marquee - it displays basic setting info only.

Exactly which cable are you using. If not a standard cable please detail the pinout.
And please provide information on the instructions you are using and the port setup.
Be sure to use the 'EZMarquee String Generator ' program available under the 'downloads ' section at EZAutomation.
And remember to jumper the RTS - CTS pins at the PLC.

Thanks for all the good information posted here. I found that the cable I purchased from Cables On Demand will not work for my installation (It's a video cable) 3 of the 15 pins are unwired. I looks like I will have to purchase individual parts and make up a cable. Again, thanks for all the replies.

You will only need three wires from the DL to the display, 7 (GND) 2(TX) and 3 (RX). Also jump 4 (RTS) to 5 (CTS) at the PLC end.
The ZL-CMA15 would make wiring easy on the PLC end. It does the RTS/CTS jumper internally. Just hook up your 3 wires.
