DL06 Ethernet Communications Module Help

I am fairly new working with PLC's and am now working with a DL06 model with an ethernet communications module. My goal is to take data from the PLC and dump it straight to a PC for later use, but I am having difficulty in doing this. Any advice/sample programs/examples for both the PLC and PC side of things would be a great help.

I am currently using DataWorx software from AD, running on my PC to log data from about half a dozen PLC's in our plant. After the initial learning curve, the system is very simple. If you want to dump information only from PLC to PC, the cost of this system was significantly less than others I looked at.

i take it that is software that needs to be purchased? we were hoping for something more along the lines of a c / visual basic program on the PC end and just utilizing the direct soft software on the PLC side.

Is this just a one off application?
If so, the cost of purchasing the software would be far less than the development time that it would take me to write an application that does this.
The DataWorx software is $395. So if I say that my time is worth $50 an hour, I would have to write the application, debug it and test it in 8 hours or less to save money on writing it myself.
Now if you were going to deploy this same application over many nodes, it may be worth your time to write the application yourself.

In regard to cost, I am running the unlimited version of DataWorx which costs $1,495. Eventually, I will be pulling information from as many as 30 PLC's. 1495/30 = about $50 per machine...pretty inexpensive in our case although your situation may be different. I can send you a sample of my data if you like.
