Does anyone have any experience connecting to an ECOM module through a LAN modem? I am trying to establish a remote connection to a 260 PLC by dialing from my desktop, thru dial-up networking to a LAN modem which is connected to an ECOM module. At current, I can dial-up and connect to the LAN modem and then successfully ping the ECOM module's IP address, but I cannot connect to the module with Netedit or DSLaunch. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

You need to take your largest observed ping time multiplied by two then add 1000 to it. Place this value in the Timeout field found in the Advanced button on the Port tab of your link setup. Don't forget to up your application timeout some as well.

It worked! Thanks a million! I spent most of the day yesterday trying everything I could think of to get this to work (even AD tech support told me what I was trying to do wasn't possible). As soon as I increased the timeout it connected with no problem.
