I am trying to connect a DL05 to a TCP/IP network via a Lantronix XPress DR interface via port 2 of the DL05. I believe both units are DTE devices and I need assistance in determining how to connect them via rs232 port.

A simple and quick test might be to swap RCV and TXD pins at one end. Not sure if the Lantronics uses any handshaking.
I know that on the telephone RJ-12 style connector that pins 3 & 4 are the transmit and receive pins. Might have to look it up in the DL05 manual.

Tried swapping the RX and TX already but it doesn't work either. The lantronix was connected to a modicon 110CPU31101 PLC via three wires and had rs232 connection. Based on that I believe no handshaking is involved.

Does the 05 Port 2 RXD LED flash?
What comunication protocol does the Lantronix device use on the RS232 side?
Assuming that protocol is Modbus RTU, Is port 2 of the 05 configured for Modbus protocol (should be the only protocol selected)?
What slave address is port 2 of the 05 configured for? Is this the address the Lantronix device is targeting?
Does the baud rate and framing in the 05 port 2 configuration match the baud rate and framing that the Lantronix device uses on the RS232 side?
