I need a way to simulate an RTD sensor. specifically the PT100's. what i need is a way to change the resistance. something that will put out 100 to 200 ohms. Any thought for some type of analog or digitally controlled 0-10VDC Potentiometer?

What are you trying to simulate, a particular temperature?

Why not just go to your electronics store and buy a variable resistor?

dieseltwitch, by saying "analog or digitally controlled ", are looking for a motorized-pot? The link below shows the company's motorized-pot:

Or you could "make " one by connecting a pot to AutomatioDirect stepper motor. This is for automatic testing of RTD input modules?

you can select a 100 ohm resistor and a 100 ohm potentiometer in series for a total of 200 ohms. But it would be nice to know what task you are trying to perform. If you are testing a system set points, I would like to suggest fixed 0.1% accurate resistors.

RTD Simulator
We use an RTD simulator, you can buy one that simulates 4-20,thermocouple,0-10V all in 1 unit.

I don't think that will work, the RTD requires a excitation current.
