At a previous employer who used a different PLC platform, we had a custom program that we wrote that could be used to set up the PLC rack, make tags, assign them to I/O, and we working on tying those tags to pre-defined logic. This was all possible because the PLC software was able to import a program in text form. I see something like this is available for the DirectSoft software, but all I see in the Productivity Suite is the ability to import/export tags, comments, and the communications setup. Having this ability in any PLC platform is very powerful and in the capable hands of a good programmer, can be used to auto-generate drawings and PLC programs which is an enormous time saver, not to mention the reporting capabilities are limitless. If this IS available, perhaps I'm just not finding it. Perhaps there's an API available to manipulate my PLC programs from an external program?

Productivity Series does not support mnemonic export/import of ladder code. We appreciate the suggestion. Keep them coming!
